Same old or something different: own your future as GPs

•      Dr Kate Baddock – where do/will GPs stand in the health services?
Dr Kate Baddock is a GP in Warkworth. She is the new Chair of the New Zealand Medical Association, and Deputy Chair of Waitemata PHO.

•      Prof Les Toop – exploring different models of care. What should we expect? What do we want?
Prof Les Toop is Head of the Department of General Practice at Otago University's Christchurch campus, and Chair of Pegasus Health.

Introduction by Cathy O’Malley the DHB General Manager: strategy primary and community.

The aim of the focus groups is to identify the top 10 needs that can be taken to Nelson Marlborough PHOs for discussion, and to improve and maintain primary care services.

There will be six focus groups discussing the following themes:
•      Funding
•      Models of care
•      Training and CME/recertification
•      Practice ownership/associates
•      Primary/secondary interface
•      PHO function
