Clinical Director | Part-time

Are you an experienced general practitioner interested in using your professional expertise and leadership to support the development and implementation of national policy?

We are looking to appoint a Clinical Director, Long Term Conditions to support the cardiovascular disease, diabetes and long term conditions team by providing clinical input to the team’s programme of work.

It’s an exciting time to join the Ministry of Health and this role is focused on working across the Ministry and the sector to make a difference for all New Zealanders.

The role will help develop and progress implementation of the long term conditions work programme including implementing action 8 of the NZ Health Strategy as well as  Living well with diabetes. The role includes strategic development, fostering relationships both internally and externally as well providing leadership to the team, the Ministry and the sector.

We are looking for a vocationally registered general practitioner with a passion for supporting people with long term conditions to manage their health. You’ll have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills and understand the importance of delivering results that meet strategic  outcomes.

You will also work in conjunction with the Clinical Advisor Diabetes and the national diabetes service improvement group.

The role is part-time (0.2 FTE) for an initial fixed-term period of one year. The successful candidate will need to be able to travel.
