There are four types of assessors:

General Practitioners
Practice Nurses
Practice Managers
Practice Development Personnel

Assessors are contracted after a rigorous selection and formal training programme. All assessors must be actively working in a general practice or with practice development.

Two assessors, a general practitioner and a practice nurse or practice manager or practice development person undertake the CORNERSTONE assessment.
