The reporting units, for an important test used to monitor diabetes patients, haemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), are being updated. The change from the old units (percentage) to the new units, millimoles per mole (mmol/mol) will take place on 3 October 2011.
“New Zealand will be among the first countries in the world to implement the change.” says Dr Brandon Orr-Walker, National Clinical Director of Diabetes. “This is part of efforts to standardise the reporting of glucose control world-wide”. Read More
