Continuing Medical Education

The pace of continuing medical education never slackens; a major part of every general practitioner's life. It not only involves the Pathway through to Fellowship of the College via GPEP, Stages I & II, but also the professional development areas of MOPS.

The dramatic increase in the volume of new and changing information has made it very difficult for GPs to keep their medical knowledge up to date. To help overcome this, the College promotes a learning strategy that involves:

  • identification of actual learning needs
  • learning needs being addressed in the most time and cost effective manner
  • the knowledge obtained being based on the best available evidence, and
  • new knowledge being applied to produce improvement in the clinical setting.

CME activities are designed to enhance your knowledge, skills, attitudes and judgement to improve the health care you provide for your patients.  Nationally endorsed courses

The Guide to CME is designed to help people and/or organisations who may wish either to provide endorsed individual CME events or to register as a registered CME provider.
