College Maori Director receives Te Ngakau award

Congratulations to RNZCGP Fellow and Tumuaki Maori (Maori Director) Keri Ratima who received the 'Te Ngakau Award' in memory of Paratene Ngata, for service to Maori communities by Maori health professionals at the recent Te ORA Hui a Tau and Scientific Conference.

The Te ORA Conference was well-attended by Maori GPs, registrars and approximately 60 students. The promotion of general practice as a career happened from the moment the conference started, with David Tipene-Leech leading a powhiri and many GPs and registrars available to talk with students during the hui, as well as sessions run on promoting general practice as a career.
