College President Re-Elected

RNZCGP President Dr Harry Pert has been re-elected for a second term.

Dr Tony Townsend has been re-elected Deputy President.

College CEO and returning officer Karen Thomas says Dr Pert and Dr Townsend received 735 votes and Dr Tane Taylor and Dr Tim Malloy received 584 votes.

Dr Pert says he is delighted to have won another term and thanked all those who participated in the voting process.

“I would also like to thank Drs Taylor and Malloy for their commitment to the College and for being prepared to put themselves forward for election. They are both an asset to the sector and will I know, continue to contribute to the work of the College.

“Tony and I look forward to continuing to work with the College Council, Board, staff and members to create a better future – for general practice, the College and for the health of our communities.”

Ms Thomas says 3571 voting ballots were posted to College members eligible to vote and 1402 were returned – a 39% rate of return.
