Conference Oration

On Friday afternoon at the 37th Annual Conference of the RNZCGP, Dr Jeff Shortt will deliver this year's College Oration.

After graduating in medicine from Cambridge, Dr Jeff Shortt spent his first eleven years in General Practice in Manchester where he also developed his lifelong interest in teaching.  With his wife and two children he emigrated to NZ in 1983, to practise in Riverton, Southland.  As a Special Area Practice it was one of the few places that he was allowed to work until being resident here for two years.  They then relocated to Lincoln where Geoff has practised since 1985.  He has remained involved in teaching GP registrars and students as an examiner for the College.  Jeff has a gift for telling a story and an enormous fund of incidents from his long career in general practice.

Immediately after the Oration the College will hold its 2010 AGM.  Our annual report is available on the College website here.  If you want a print copy please email us.
