Consensus Statement on Health Benefits of Work Launch

The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (AFOEM) launches the Australian and New Zealand Consensus Statement on the Health Benefits of Work tomorrow in Wellington.

The Consensus Statement, endorsed by unions, business groups, medical and allied health professionals, government authorities and other stakeholders, fulfils a recommendation of the AFOEM's position statement, 'Realising the health benefits of work', which presents compelling that work is generally good for health and wellbeing, and that long term work absence, work disability and unemployment generally have a negative impact on health and wellbeing.

RNZCGP has agreed to endorse the statement and College President Dr Harry Pert will attend the launch as a signatory.
