The Council has the primary governance role in The Royal New Zealand College of Practitioners.
The Council formulates policy, instigates and monitors actions to fulfil the objectives of the College. The Council may delegate any of its functions to committees, which shall conform to any regulations that may be imposed on them by the Council.
The Voting Members of the Council are:
The Chief Executive officer is a non-voting member.
At specified times the Council may be joined by the President Elect and the Deputy President Elect who are also non-voting members.
In December 2009 the Council decided to delegate all of its functions to the Executive Board of the Council. The Council provides oversight of this Board at its 6-monthly meeting.
