Deputy President

Dr Tony Townsend, RNZCGP Deputy President

Dr Tony Townsend comes from the Waikato Faculty and has dedicated most of his professional life to teaching and learning, at every level. He has taught undergraduates and registrars, has been chair of the College’s education committee, and has extensive academic experience. He was also a Faculty Representative on Council. In 2008 he stepped down after six years as editor of the College’s journal the New Zealand Family Physician. Tony Townsend was elected Deputy President in 2009.
