Keeping Members Up-to-date in 2012

With the New Year now upon us, there are many exciting new developments, and new challenges, to share with RNZCGP (the College) members.

One way I will be doing that this year is by providing regular updates via ePulse.

My aim is to provide updates on a wide range of College matters to ensure Members are up-to-date on current issues.

The format I’ll be using is a short introduction to each topic in ePulse which will link to a question and answer session with me which will be posted on the College website. There will be an opportunity for members to ask any further questions after reading each session.

I am looking forward to communicating with you in this new way, and to getting feedback from you on the issues being discussed.

Regards

Harry Pert

Q & A Session: New College Rules and the SGM

Proposed new rules for RNZCGP and Special General Meeting to consider them

RNZCGP (the College) is kicking off 2012 with one of the most important activities of the year, the presentation of proposed new rules for the College and the holding of a Special General Meeting (SGM) to consider them.

The College rules have been under review for some time and gone through many iterations as we have consulted with Members, made draft amendments and then sought further feedback.

The proposed rules have been written in plain English and propose, amongst other changes, the adoption of a more modern governance structure and a smaller representative governance body.

In this question and answer session I will endeavour to highlight the changes that are being made, to explain how the SGM will work and to answer other questions that Members may have on this important topic.
