Facilitator Visit

GPEP2 - Facilitator Visit

In each of Parts 1 and 2 of GPEP2, candidates for Fellowshipare visited by a College-appointed facilitator. The facilitator observes and usually video records a set of consultations, and discusses the consultations with the candidate. The candidate then reviews the video and reflects on ways in which they might improve their consulting skills. The facilitator also reviews a selection of patient records to see whether they include everything they should and whether they are legible and understandable to another medical practitioner. In addition, the facilitator reviews and offers advice on the practice facilities and equipment.

All these activities are formative and are designed to help ensure that candidates have the skills and abilities necessary to practice as independent general practitioners. Candidates demonstrate this to the College during the assessment visit.
