Funding

In November 2007 the Ministry of Health announced funding to accredit every remaining general practice in New Zealand.

In 2009 the Ministry of Health undertook a review of all contracts and subsequently reduced the funding to accredit all New Zealand general practices from seven hundred and fifty (750) places to three hundred and fifty (350).

As of 22 February 2010 we now have 350 practices under contract in CORNERSTONE.  Unfortunately we can not offer any further practices a contract to be accredited at this time.

Practices are still encouraged to register with the programme and  the College will hold your name on a waiting list and reallocate the funding to a practice on this list if a contracted practice withdraws from the programme.
