Generally Registered Doctors

CPD Online Programme

The College currently offers access to the 'CPD Online' system for reporting recertification requirements as a a membership service for doctors registered in the general scope of general practice.

Recently, the Medical Council of New Zealand has approved a new recertification programme for these doctors, to be administered through bpac. All doctors registered in the general scope of practice, except those participating in a vocational training programme, those limited to non-clinical practice, and those who are also registered in a vocational scope of practice, will be required to participate in this new recertification programme.

The programme will be rolled out over the course of 2012. Doctors registered in the general scope of practice will be required to join the programme prior to applying for their practicing certificate. The dates for application will therefore vary according to the practicing renewal date group to which the doctor belongs.

In the longer term, the programme will continue to be offered only for those doctors registered in the general scope who are participating in the College's training programme.
