The Medical Council has finalised its interim policy for doctors registered in a general scope or a vocational scope of general practice who wish to perform tumescent liposuction.
The Council would like to make general practitioners aware of the new requirements as doctors who perform tumescent liposuction are now required to apply to Council for an extension to their scope of practice. Those who do not apply will not be permitted to perform tumescent liposuction. Download the full text of the interim policy here.
