The directors of Medicus Indemnity New Zealand Inc., all of whom are New Zealand registered medical practitioners, are pleased to announce the launch of a new medical indemnity insurance option for New Zealand practitioners

Medicus is a new and independent 'not-for-profit' risk management group established by New Zealand registered medical practitioners for the benefit of colleagues.  Medicus offers insurance, risk management advice and free Medico-Legal counselling,

Medicus is not an Insurance Company.  All indemnity risks are commercially underwritten by Lumley General Insurance (N.Z.) Limited, a company with a secure 'A-' rating as allocated by the international rating agency Standard & Poors.

The Medicus insurance policy is very competitively priced and provides a range of cover options for all general practitioners, surgeons, specialists and dental practitioners.  Cover is also available to medical students and the nursing profession.  The insurance policy is a non discretionary legal contract that brings definition to the obligations and responsibilities of the insurer.

The Medicus Medico-Legal team is led by Dr Peter Robinson who offers in excess of 15 years experience assisting members of the profession in resolving patient relationship concerns.
