Position Statements

This page links to position statements on various issues concerning health and the delivery of medical care.

What is a position statement?

Position statements provide the context or reference points from which the College approaches the evaluation of strategies, policies, initiatives and approaches.

How does the College decide its position?

College Council determines the college’s strategic direction and policy. There are three ways by which College policy is articulated:

  1. Minutes of the meetings of the Council or Executive.
  2. Policy Statements.
  3. Position Papers.

When policy statements and position papers are under consideration, they are termed "draft" and become policy only when Council or Executive approves them.

The College responds to requests for submission and consultation based on its policy policy positions.
