Candidates should focus on becoming safe and competent general practitioners through practising and reflecting on the day to day tasks of ordinary general practice. This is the best preparation for Primex, which is structured to examine the knowledge, skills and values GPs use in their everyday work.

Reference Material

The RNZCGP have published a syllabus for the Stage 1 General Practice Training Programme. All registrars and seminar attenders have a copy of the syllabus as part of their training programme.

Primex candidates other than registrars and seminar attenders are strongly recommended to obtain a copy of the syllabus to make use of it when preparing for the examination. The cost of the syllabus is $60.00 (incl GST). Click here to download the order form
