The College has developed its first draft Māori Strategy which is now available for consultation with College members, staff and stakeholders.
The College has had commitments to the Treaty of Waitangi, culturally competent practice, and equity and health disparities for some time in its rules and programmes. The College has recognised that in order to fully realise its commitments to Māori it would be useful to draw together its Māori focused work into a single strategy and consider further actions.
This first draft Māori Strategy for consultation has been developed by the College’s Māori Faculty, Te Akoranga a Maui, in conjunction with the College’s Policy team. The draft Māori Strategy contains 15 proposed action areas which are designed to achieve health equity for Māori.
