We provide specialist medical training and education programmes enabling you to become vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a General Practitioner and/or a Rural Hospital Generalist.
We also deliver a three month run in rural general practice for junior doctors.
The College supports its Fellows to maintain and develop their knowledge and skills through our Maintenance of Professional Standards (MOPS) programme and by our network of registered providers of Continuing Medical Education (CME).

Primary health care, including general practice, is the main focus of the future development and investment in New Zealand's health sector.
