Call for Abstracts now open

The Rural Chapter of The New Zealand Royal College of General Practitioners is now calling for abstracts and posters for its 2020 Rural Research Day. The theme for this event is: "Whakawhanaugatanga - we are all connected". The Rural Research Day was originally scheduled to be held as part of the WONCA Asia Pacific conference in April, but this was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The new domestic conference, Health Aotearoa 2020, will be held at Auckland’s Aotea Centre from 5 – 7 November 2020 and the Rural Research Day will be held on Wednesday 4 November, as a pre-conference day. We welcome speakers presenting in person and virtually via video conference.

Presentations should be original "rural health research” and we are keen to include speakers from all research fields relating to rural health, not just health professionals. Those wishing to present posters will be asked to speak to their posters for 3-5 minutes during the lunch break. We would love to hear from New Zealand and international researchers and ask that abstracts include a description of how meaningful partnership with the community was achieved in the methodology. We also welcome other original rural health research.

As an extra incentive there will be prizes on offer for the best registrar presentation ($500), student presentation ($250) and best poster ($250)! The deadline for submissions is Friday, 11 September 2020.
