Frizelle ONZM - Professor of Surgery, Otago University, President Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ) Bowel cancer affects one in 18 New Zealanders during their lifetime. It is the 2nd leading cause of cancer death in NZ, with around 3,500 cases and 1,350 deaths each year. This webinar will explore how its presentation is evolving and who is most at risk. Covering screening, early detection, investigation and management - it highlights red flags, rising rates in under-50s, and inequities affecting Maori. It will also examine factors contributing to delayed presentation, including challenges in both patient and clinician recognition.
