On Monday 10 October 2022, the College is launching a refreshed CPD programme called Te Whanake. To help us switch over to the new system, the current Triennium 9 closed at 5.00pm on Tuesday 30 August 2022.
To help explain the new programme and how to record your learning, Dr Samantha Murton, College President and Candice Beck, Manager – Membership and Professional Development will be hosting a webinar on Wednesday 12 October at 7.00pm. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and the webinar will be recorded and shared with members in ePulse.
The webinar is open to members only, look out for a registration link in ePulse.

Te Whanake FAQs
Why are you launching a new CPD programme?
The Medical Council of New Zealand updated their recertification requirements and members told us our current CPD system was rigid, a ‘box to tick’ and slow to use. We’re confident our new system will be more rewarding, relevant, efficient and flexible.
What are my requirements for Te Whanake?
We have put together a quick comparison guide between triennium 9 and Te Whanake as well as a Te Whanake requirements summary on our CPD Resources page. If you have any more questions, get in touch with us.
What do I need to do on Monday 10 October?
You can use your existing College website credentials to log in. Once you have logged in – you will be prompted to add some learning goals (learning goals along with a conversation at the end of each year replace your PDP). You can also start adding activities to gain credits, clinical attachment time or other learning towards your triennium requirements anytime from launch.
What will Te Whanake look like?
There are some quick videos on our CPD resources page that will give you an understanding of what Te Whanake will look like.
Where do I record my professional development and learning activities until Te Whanake is online?
We will launch the refreshed CPD programme (Te Whanake) on 10 October 2022. Please keep a manual record of any learning between now and then launch that you can record it once Te Whanake opens.
I am mid-way through some professional development, how will I record that?
You can enter it into Te Whanake when you complete the activity i.e., post graduate research or papers even if the start date is before 1 September (Te Whanake start date).
I want a record of my CPD for my Tri 9, how do I get this?
We will be able to provide this to you after launch of Te Whanake, get in contact with and we will send it to you after the launch.
By closing on the 30 August, I am only part way through my triennium, will my record show I still met requirements?
Most members will still meet the reduced requirements for Triennium 9 despite closing earlier, please email email@example.com if you have questions about your record.
What happens if I missed the deadline to upload something to my Triennium 9?
Unfortunately, as Triennium 9 is closed there is no way for you or the College to add any further activities to it. If you need support or have questions about your Triennium 9, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
