Celebrating general practice
General practice is the speciality that treats patients with the widest variety of conditions and the greatest range of severity. GPs treat patients at all ages and stages of their lives, often providing continuity of care throughout a patients’ lifetime.
To acknowledge the work our GPs do, and in celebration of World Family Doctor Day on 19 May, we asked College members to tell us what a typical day in general practice might look like. You can read some of the comments we received in this booklet 'A Day in the Life of a Kiwi GP'.
College Medical Director Dr Richard Medlicott and Clinical Lead Dr Liza Lack tell us about what they might do in a typical working day below. Head to our Facebook page to see more comments sent to us by GPs across the country.
