Health and Disability complaints against GPs

The Health and Disability Commissioner is an independent review office whose role is to promote and protect the rights of consumers as set out in the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights. This includes resolving complaints in a fair, timely, and effective way.

Sometimes the Commissioner hears complaints from patients against GPs, which gives patients a fair review process and gives the profession an opportunity to learn. The College has chosen to outline each complaint report here to offer other GPs an opportunity to learn, and consider their own practice.

Names have been removed to protect privacy. Identifying letters are assigned by the Commission in alphabetical order and bear no relationship to the person’s actual name.

The College will update this page as new complaints are closed and published. We will publish complaints from the current calendar year.
