Human papillomavirus (HPV) is now a leading cause of oropharyngeal cancers, with increasing incidence in Aotearoa New Zealand—particularly among younger people and those without traditional risk factors.

Timed to coincide with World Head and Neck Cancer Day at the end of July, this webinar will explore the link between HPV and head and neck cancer, including key risk factors, signs and symptoms, diagnostic pathways, and important prevention strategies.

This session is designed to support primary and community healthcare professionals—including GPs, nurses, dentists, health promoters, and school health teams—to increase knowledge of all HPV related cancers, recognise early signs of disease, refer appropriately, and understand the role of HPV vaccination and awareness in cancer prevention.

Dr Dean
