Urology Webinar with Mr James Duthie, Specialist Urologist
We will explore common urological presentations to our rural health settings including but not limited to renal calculi, urosepsis, testicular torsion, and catheter troubleshooting (leaking, bypassing, spasm, unable to deflate balloon, unable to pass, SPC tract closing over).
Jim is a Urological Surgeon sub-specialising in prostate treatments. Jim is a fellowship-trained robotics surgeon, the NZ representative for the Prostate Cancer Outcomes Registry of Australia & New Zealand, and medical advisor to Prostate Cancer Foundation NZ and Testicular Cancer NZ. Jim is a mentor in robotic surgery and laser prostatectomy, and introduced the Urolift procedure to New Zealand. Jim has a background in developing electronic patient resources and has developed two smartphone apps for prostate cancer patients in the past. Jim cares about training doctors, doing the right thing by patients even when it’s difficult, his family, craft beer with friends, and talking to experts in almost any field. Jim currently works between Wellington and Tauranga in public and private practice.
