Participating in Continuing Professional Development ensures that College members provide best practice to an ever-changing spectrum of patients.

About Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

The College provides the CPD programme for vocationally registered general practitioners (and those in training) in New Zealand.

The CPD programme is designed to enable doctors to comply with the Medical Council of New Zealand’s recertification requirements for medical practitioners in New Zealand.

Each doctor must complete 150 credits of CPD every three years (50 credits a year on the annual programme).

The College CPD programme provides resources and an online tool to track activities and credits accessible from your member dashboard. There are seminars, workshops and courses available all year round in our events section.
