Learn to recognise and differentiate acute red eye from chronic dry eye conditions. Join us in person from 6.00 - 8.00pm. This FREE practical session will help you:
- Understand common causes of red eye – including infection, trauma, and systemic disease
- Assess and diagnose acute eye presentations without specialist equipment
- Use patient history and external eye examination to distinguish mild, self-limiting conditions from those requiring urgent referral
- Identify red flags such as sudden vision loss, severe pain, or systemic involvement that may indicate serious pathology
- Make confident referral decisions based on clinical clues
- Differentiate conditions that can be managed in primary care (e.g., allergic conjunctivitis) from those needing urgent ophthalmology assessment (e.g., microbial keratitis, glaucoma, scleritis)
- Provide initial management and patient advice
