Resuscitation requirements and providers
Fellows and registrars of the College are required to hold a current ALS certificate by an endorsed resuscitation provider. Dual and Division of Rural Hospital Medicine (Division).
Fellows and registrars must hold current certificates in severe trauma management, Newborn Life Support and a College endorsed ALS (three years).
College endorsed courses must be at a minimum 6 hours in contact time and include a formal skills assessment.
Before enrolling in a resuscitation course, please check that it appears on the approved list below.
GP Fellows may complete the Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course to meet their ALS requirement. However, they must complete an adult resuscitation course in their next triennium to ensure ongoing competence in both adult and paediatric resuscitation.
