Resuscitation requirements and providers

All Fellows and registrars of the College, including those in the Division of Rural Hospital Medicine (the Division), are required to hold a current resuscitation certificate from a College-endorsed resuscitation provider.

College-endorsed courses include a minimum of six hours of contact time and a formal skills assessment to support consistent, high-quality training.

Before enrolling, we recommend checking that your chosen course appears on the approved list below.

GP Fellows may complete the Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course to meet their ALS requirement. However, they must complete an adult resuscitation course in their next triennium to ensure ongoing competence in both adult and paediatric resuscitation.
