AMROA MRO Certification & Recertification
12 November 2026 - 14 November 2026, 8:45 AM - 11:00 AM
Type
Continuing Medical Education
This is a popular 2 ½ day highly interactive and practical course, with an exam on the Saturday morning. This time, the course is in Wellington, with members of the AMROA Training Faculty from both sides of the Tasman. General Practitioners are often required to determine fitness for work. With increasing focus on substance use in safety-sensitive industries, understanding testing, interpretation and the common pitfalls is increasingly important. Certified MROs are also in a good position to provide advice both to organisations and safety-sensitive workers about testing programmes. It will cover aviation, rail, maritime and road alcohol and other drug testing, in both New Zealand and Australia, together with overviews of toxicology, implications of 'medicinal' cannabis, 'beating the test' and laboratory processes. There is a recertification course for MROs needing to maintain their certification
