The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (the College) has appointed Charlotte Etheridge as General Manager, Delivery and Michelle McCulley as General Manager, Design, strengthening its senior leadership team.

Charlotte joins the College from Nelson Bays Primary Health, bringing strong experience working alongside general practice, strategic leadership and relationship building. Her appointment reflects a shared commitment between the College and Nelson Bays Primary Health to supporting a strong and sustainable general practice sector.

Michelle joins the College from the University of Waikato, where she is Associate Professor and Year 1 Curriculum and Science Lead for the New Zealand Graduate School of Medicine. She brings extensive experience in curriculum design, assessment, academic quality and accreditation, as well as work integrating Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity and cultural safety into curriculum and governance.

College Chief Executive Toby Beaglehole says the appointments bring significant experience and expertise to the College at an important time for general practice.

“Michelle and Charlotte bring complementary strengths and a shared commitment to improving health outcomes. We’re delighted to welcome them to the College and look forward to the contribution they will make for our members and for general practice in Aotearoa.”

Charlotte will continue working with Nelson Bays Primary Health through its leadership transition, with her final days there in mid-January 2027. Michelle starts at the College on Monday 9 November.
